Flower Carpet TM Pink Supreme
Flower CarpetTM PINK SUPREME is one of the NEW GENERATION Flower Carpet roses. Twenty years of extra breeding has provided improved heat tolerance and disease resistance in an already brilliant class of ground cover roses introduced by Anthony Tesselaar Plants.
Flowers and Colour
Flowers are produced in vibrant clusters up to 11 inches across. These clusters are comprised of 5 to 9 flowers and developing buds, up to 60 of which can be produced on a single stem. New flowers are iridescent pink with white centres, eventually becoming a lighter, more delicate shade with age.
Foliage
Dark green and glossy medium sized leaves.
Plant Size
Flower Carpet TM Pink Supreme forms a low, dense, compact bush with a mature height of 30 to 38 inches.
Easy Plant Care
Watering: Keep well-watered. Flower Carpet TM Pink Supreme will withstand dry conditions once established.
Fertilizer: Give each rose a handful of balanced rose food in early spring, and again in mid-summer to ensure your plants produce their full potential of blooms each season. In cold climates, avoid feeding roses in late summer or fall, as the extra nutrients will encourage new growth and increase the chance of cold-damage over winter.
Trimming: Trim an established plant back to approximately 25 to 30 cm (10 - 12") from its base or a third of its size in late winter or early spring. Lightly trim with hedge shears any time throughout the flowering season to shape your rosebush.
Optimal Planting Conditions
Flower Carpet TM Pink Supreme grows best in full sun. It will grow well in partial shade (4-5 hours of sun per day), but the number of blooms will be reduced. Space two to three plants per square metre (yard) for ground cover, or plant 60 to 90 cm (24 - 36") apart to establish boundaries. Flower Carpet TM roses can be planted any time during spring, summer or fall. The bush is self-cleaning; no dead-heading is needed.
