Flower Carpet TM Amber

Flower CarpetTM Amber is the newest in the collection of Flower CarpetTM roses. The growth habit is vigorous and arching with defence foliage.

Flowers and Colour

Amber provides a glorious display of iridescent colours, from amber to apricot, carrying an abundance of gorgeous semi double petal flowers.

Foliage

Dark, glossy, medium-sized leaves are produced in abundance all season long.

Plant Size

Plants grow quickly during spring, with branches arching away from the centre of the bush, providing a colour extravaganza. Flower Carpet TM Amber grows 60 to 70 cm high and 60 cm wide once established.

Easy Plant Care

Watering: Keep well-watered, particularly during hot summer months.

Fertilizer: A handful of balanced rose food per plant in early spring, and again in mid-summer will ensure your plants produce their full potential of blooms each season. In cold climates, avoid feeding roses in late summer or fall, as the extra nutrients will force new growth and increase the chances of cold-damage over winter.

Trimming: No fancy pruning is required at all. Just use any shears or clippers to cut plant back to 1/2 or 1/3 in overall size in late winter or early spring. Also cut out any dead winter wood.

Optimal Planting Conditions

Plant two to three per square metre (yard) in full sun or partial shade for ground cover, or plant 60 to 80 cm (2-3') apart to establish boundaries in the garden. Flower Carpet TM roses can be planted any time during spring, summer or fall. They will thrive in USDA zones 5 to 11. Protect them over the first winter in cold zones. In zones 6 and below, continued winter protection is advised. In areas of intense heat (for example Phoenix, AZ) protect by planting in semi-shade.
